Open to Head of Design roles

Good design makes complex software feel inevitable. I lead the teams that make it happen.

Mitratech's governance, risk and compliance business is a ~$100M ARR portfolio of 13 products that keep enterprises audit ready and out of court. One design function serves all of it. I built that function from nothing, and five designers and I run it together.

What I am known for

Four things people hire me for.

Not a job description. These are the patterns that show up in every team I have run and every product I have shipped.

Turning execution teams into strategic ones

Design here was a UI service desk. Rebuilding it took a practice with its own research, its own standards, and a seat in the product decisions that matter. That rebuild is the work I am proudest of, and the team owns it now.

Making AI earn its place

The team embeds AI across research, ideation and delivery, then cuts whatever does not hold up. Setting that bar is my job. It speeds the work and keeps data heavy systems trustworthy. Judgment stays with people.

Designers who ship, not hand off

I built a design engineering practice: designers sit with customers, then fix the UI in the codebase and deploy it themselves. No handoff, no ticket queue, no waiting a sprint for a four pixel problem. I still design too, and a working prototype inside 48 hours when a deal needs one.

Systems over heroics

Shared standards and a single research process took design cycles from two weeks to four days, and research from three weeks to a week and a half. Repeatable beats heroic.

The shape of the role

Breadth across the function. Depth where it counts.

One design team covering thirteen products means going wide by necessity and deep by choice. Here is where each one has gone.

Selected work

Problems worth the trouble.

Governance, risk and compliance is the software that keeps enterprises audit ready and out of court. Six bets inside it, and the practice that made them possible. Each one starts with a business problem and a user quietly working around it.

Shipped, under wraps

Product work that ships inside Mitratech, so the screens and the specifics stay internal. The problems, the research and the reasoning are all things I can take you through directly. Ask me about any of it.
